Because he spent years as an estimator watching homeowners pay for commissions and bonuses instead of roofs.
Jeremiah Wallace entered the remodeling industry in 2006. He has worked for the low-end contractors who win the bid and then hand you a change order halfway through the job, and he has worked for the high-end, high-pressure "white glove" companies whose prices are built to cover a sales team. He was unhappy at both. What he saw as an estimator was pricing designed around who got paid, not what the house needed.
Wallace Roofing & Exterior Construction is his answer to that. The person who walks your roof and goes into your attic is the one who writes the scope and stands behind the number. There is no commission on the estimate and no bonus for selling you a replacement you do not need. The goal is not to win the homeowner standing in front of us. It is to earn the business of their friends and family afterward, and that only happens if the first job was honest.

Jeremiah did not take a straight path here. Alongside construction he trained in martial arts and was hand-selected to become an instructor, attending a trade school where the curriculum covered systems design, business ethics, business operations and people skills, as much as technique. When the pandemic shut down his martial arts career in 2020, he returned to construction, this time as an estimator rather than in a labor role.
That estimator's seat is where the company idea came from. He saw how numbers were built and who they were built for. He founded Wallace Roofing & Exterior Construction on the three values that carried over from the mat: integrity, honesty and discipline. He still trains jiu-jitsu today, and he will tell you that the discipline it takes to show up and do the boring fundamentals correctly, every time, is exactly what a good roof requires.
READ THE Q&A
Integrity, honesty and discipline are easy words to put on a truck. Here is what they mean when we are standing on your roof.
The scope we write is the scope we build. Decking is priced before tear-off. Permits are pulled. Flashing goes where the manufacturer says it goes, whether or not anyone will ever see it.
If your roof has five good years left, you will hear that. If a repair is the right call, you will hear that too. We have turned down work outside our service area and told homeowners who else to call.
Daily photo updates. Daily cleanup. A magnetic nail sweep on the last day. The same fundamentals done the same way on a $900 repair and a full re-side, because that is the only way they become habits.
The positions we take on nearly every estimate. Some of them cost us work. All of them earn referrals.
We explain the mechanism before the recommendation. You should understand why your roof is failing before anyone tells you what to buy.
Free evaluationA well-installed mid-grade shingle outlasts a badly installed premium one. We chose Malarkey for how it performs, not its warranty length.
Roofing materialsNo urgency tactics, no "sign today" pricing. You get the facts, the photos and the options, and the decision is yours on your timeline.
How it worksWe will not promise energy savings from windows or maintenance-free gutters from guards. We tell you what a product does and what it does not.
WindowsWe have documented a six-year-old roof in Snohomish destroyed by pressure washing. Our Roof Refresh soft wash exists because of it.
Roof RefreshWe count the rotten plywood before we price the roof, so the number you approve is the number you pay. No change orders on day one.
Roof replacementPhotos from the roof every day, a phone that gets answered, and homeowners who were out of town for their whole project still knew exactly what was happening.
ReviewsThe goal is not this job. It is your neighbor's job, your brother's job, and the next one after that. That only happens if this one was done right.
Areas we serveEach certification means we were trained to install that manufacturer's product to their specification, and that your installation carries the coverage that comes with it.
We are based in Lake Stevens and most of our work is within thirty minutes of the lake: Snohomish, Everett, Marysville, Monroe, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Edmonds, Mukilteo, Mountlake Terrace and Bothell. We also serve North King County, including Woodinville, Kenmore and Shoreline, and the Eastside from Kirkland and Redmond to Bellevue, Sammamish and Issaquah. Both residential and commercial properties.
The service area is real and we stick to it. If your home is outside it, we will tell you so and point you toward someone good, because a contractor who is stretched too thin to show up is not doing you a favor.
