Because the roof, siding, windows, gutters and deck are one water-management system, and they fail where they meet.
Most of the rot we repair in Snohomish and King County lives at a junction: where a roof meets a wall without kick-out flashing, where a window was set without a sill pan, where a deck ledger was bolted through the siding, where a gutter overflowed into a soffit for ten winters. Wallace Roofing & Exterior Construction handles all of those trades, so when we do a multi-phase project, the flashing on each phase is planned to work with the next.
We are a James Hardie Alliance Elite Contractor and a TimberTech Certified Contractor, we install Milgard windows and doors, and we are an AAMA member. Our exterior services:

Most homeowners do not know that siding certifications differ. Anyone can buy Hardie boards at a lumber yard and nail them to a house. Alliance Elite is James Hardie's designation for contractors who have been trained on and install to Hardie's own specification, and it affects the coverage your installation carries. Wallace Roofing & Exterior Construction holds that designation.
Here is why it matters. We say it on nearly every siding estimate: James Hardie installed to code is bound to fail. That means Washington State builder code, a minimum that passes inspection, as opposed to Hardie's specification, which dictates how the weather barrier laps, where flashing goes above every opening, the gap at the roof line, the clearance from grade, and which joints are caulked and which are deliberately left open so the wall can drain. Code passes. Spec lasts.

Some of these cost us a sale now and then. We would rather earn the referral.
New windows make a home more comfortable, quieter and drier. We will never promise a specific energy saving. Companies have gone out of business over that promise.
Under Northwest tree cover, needles mat on top of guards and fine debris still gets through. If that is your goal, guards are not worth it. We will install them, but we will not oversell them.
Cedar is beautiful and cheaper up front. It also needs cleaning and sealing every year or two here. Under heavy shade, composite is usually the better long-term value.
Almost every siding job uncovers some. We show you photos, price the repair honestly and fix it before new siding goes on. Covering rot is how you buy the same problem twice.
Each one means we were trained to install that manufacturer's product to their specification.

More long-form answers in Jeremiah's own words are in the Q&A.
Yes, and we recommend it when the budget allows, because the flashing on each trade is planned to work with the others. Many homeowners phase it over a year or two: roof first, then siding and gutters, then windows. We plan the phases so each one protects the next.
James Hardie fiber cement. It does not rot, does not feed insects and holds paint far longer than wood in our climate. We are an Alliance Elite Contractor and install it to Hardie's specification, which is stricter than code.
We repair it. Rot spreads along framing well past the soft spot you can see, so we open the area, photograph it, replace the damaged wood and fix whatever let the water in. Then the new siding, trim or deck goes on.
Yes, through Hearth, with a 60-second pre-qualification that does not affect your credit score and no dealer fees. We do not offer in-house financing, on purpose, so the lender funds you directly.
